How to Bake Tasty and Soft Homemade Dinner Rolls Bread Recipe 

Dinner Rolls are one of our favorite types of bread to buy whenever we pass by our local bakery. They’re very soft as well so it makes it suitable even for those individuals who might find it hard to take a bite on bread with harder crusts. We have found this recipe by “Cooking a Dream” which is fairly simple to do ( other than the kneading part that might require a bit of practice) and we found it very lovely. Give it a try and let us know how you like it.

Ingredients

  • 120 mL water

  • 1 teaspoon of yeast (4.68 grams)

  • 3 teaspoon of sugar (7.56 grams)

  • ¾ teaspoon of salt (4.42 grams)

  • 4 tablespoon of  milk powder (8.12 grams)

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 cups of bread flour (250g)

  • 3 tablespoon of butter (42 grams)

  • A bit of oil

  • A bit of egg Yolk for egg wash

Equipments

  • Bowl

  • Board (Used for Kneading)

  • Dough Roller

  • Baking Pan

  • Brush

  • Oven

Instructions

  1. Pour 120 mL of water into the bowl and mix
     

  2. Pour 1 teaspoon of yeast into the bowl and mix
     

  3. Pour 3 teaspoon of sugar into the bowl and mix
     

  4. Pour 3/4 teaspoon of salt into the bowl and mix
     

  5. Pour 4 tablespoon of milk powder into the bow and mix
     

  6. Add 1 large egg into  the bowl and mix
     

  7. Pour 2 cups of bread flour into the bow and mix very well

8. Once mixed well ,the dough should have formed inside the bowl. Take the dough out of the bowl and start kneading it
 

9. For kneading technique we suggest watching the video for a great reference to visually see how you should knead the bread

10. After kneading for a bit, put the 3 tablespoon of butter on top of the dough and press it down into it and then start kneading again.

11. Knead for 15 minutes, until the dough stops being sticky and can get very stretchable

12. Round the dough up like a snowball

13. Spread some oil around the bowl and put the dough inside the bowl and cover it with a wrap or a cloth
 

14. Let it sit until its size has doubled
 

15. After dough has doubled, press and punch it down and bring it out of the bowl
 

16. Roll the dough up into a cylindrical shape and then divide the dough into 6 pieces ( See minutes 3:01 - 3:18 in video for reference

17. Using a Dough Roller, spread each piece out and roll it back up unto the round shape

18. Place a parchment paper on the baking pan and place the dough pieces into the pan

19. Let the dough sit for a while to proof and grow a bit of size. Make sure to place cover the dough with either a wrap or cloth

20 .Use a brush to spread some egg yolk on top of the bread doughs

21.Preheat oven to 350 F ( 175C)

22.Bake bread in oven for about 15 - 20 minutes
